In this exercise I had to incorporate a few different objects into one. By manipulating the blending modes. I tried to make it look like they belong in the same image. I found it difficult to know when to stop. Because of this reason I did this exercise 4 times with varying results. The first time I did this exercise, I spent the most time on the details. Tried different ways of cutting out an object - it was especially useful for the gates image because there was so much detail that I could not cleanly cut it out by myself. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the file. The second image was easier to make because I already had the hang of all the new functions I can use. In terms of the lighting, I believe, I did a good job, but the objects could have been cut out more cleanly. Also, I should have made the objects smaller. In my opinion, I did the best job on the third image. The objects are cut out nicely and the lighting is even and natural. Despite all that, I believe the image is a bit too dark, but it was intentional, as the darker lighting helps to hide all the imperfections. The last image looks cleanly cut out with believable lighting. My main problem with it is that it look fake and the individual objects do not look like they belong together. In this case, I think I should have made the background and the gates darker, it would have made the woman stick out more. I believe the more I darken the image the easier it is to hide imperfections and implement the individual objects. Discovered a new way of cutting out an object - by selecting the colour range which was an incredibly useful function to learn and apply for this exercise.
