Text Effect

For this exercise I attempted to distort a line of text to create a metallic epic look. I did this exercise in class and followed a very precise tutorial. I started by opening a spooky black background for the text. Then I typed some letters using the Garamond Bold font. I applied the Bevel & Emboss and Satin effects to the text. On a new layer I created a shadow by duplicating the line of text, lowering the opacity, changing the direction, and then placing it under the text. For the final details, I placed two stars, creating a 'sparkling' effect. I do not think that this exercise was very successful for me. I am happy with the final image but still believe that it differs from the one shown in the tutorial. Also, I might have missed a few important steps, which contributed to the final result looking not quite finished.
